Yes. All newer solar systems allow you to retrofit a battery. However, there are a number of things you need to consider, including:
- The size of your solar system: if your system only generates enough power to meet a small part of your energy usage, then it may not be worth considering a battery.
- The type of inverter you have: while most newer hybrid inverters allow you to add a battery directly to your inverter, all standard solar inverters are compatible with AC-coupled batteries like the Tesla Powerwall 2.
